Heidi tells me she wants to "do shoes by myself". Okay, I bite my tongue and let her fiddle with the small straps for awhile, even if we are running 20 minutes behind {quite predictably}.
So many big girl things are going down here these days. I'm so relieved she still reminds me, rather often through our long days, that "I mama's baby girl."
Her brother is growing equally fast. His first real {not by mom} haircut happened yesterday and it was looooooooooooooooong overdue. I caught a glimpse of our Christmas card from this last year and saw his wild mane blowing around in all it's unruly glory and had an "OH Lord, what was I thinking!" moment. It was O.O.C. as my college amigas would have said "OUT-OF-CONTROL!" Oh how we mamas can be blinded by our love for our young that we might honestly print and mail hundreds of Christmas cards with the picture of a child, badly in need of a trim, with out noticing?!
Anyhow, THERE is the little face I've been missing!
And he totally loved every minute of his spa day. He gave more than a few fish lips to himself in the mirror. And now he wants to use 'gel' everyday. YIKES!
xo

Oh wow Gavin looks SO big! Gah, his face is all kinds of handsome. Love your strong awesome boy. Love how independent Heidi is! <3
